Community and
Education Services
Department

Akron-UMADAOP, Inc. offers a variety of services to the Summit County community in the area of Prevention Services. We continue to strive to develop a comprehensive prevention system that creates healthy communities in which people enjoy a quality life in accordance with the Center For Substance Abuse Prevention [SAMHSA]. This includes supportive work and school environments, drug- and crime-free neighborhoods, and positive connections with friends and family.

Positive Connections with Family promoted by Akron UMDADAOP

Akron-UMADAOP, Inc. believes that a young person whose self-esteem is intact, who is aware and proud of his/her heritage, and possesses strong leadership skills, integrity and respect for his/her community, is better able to resist difficult situations or challenges that may be presented to them. Youth who are comfortable with themselves and confident of their worth and abilities can better understand and avoid the devastation that results from substance abuse and other life-altering behaviors.
